RITA KICONCO’S EXPERIENCE AT TECHBUZZHUB
Walking into Tech buzz hub on my first day, I was immediately struck by the warmth of the space and the friendliness of the staff. The environment was lively yet welcoming, the walls filled thoughtful artwork that seemed to tell a story of its own. Walking through the entrance, I felt a mix of excitement and confidence a perfect start to the new year and my journey into this training. I was looking forward to learn, to contribute, and to prepare myself for the work ahead. Being greeted with genuine smiles and a calm, inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel at home.
After a brief wait in the waiting area, we were ushered into the boardroom. A delightful breakfast of samosas, chapati, and tea was laid out for us, adding an extra layer of comfort and hospitality. It was during this breakfast that the orientation officially began. Grace, one of the Hub’s staff members, welcomed us warmly and guided the session. We began with introductions each of us sharing a little about ourselves, while the team reciprocated, giving a sense of the people and values behind the organization.
The morning continued with a series of presentations. The first focused on the GPAP training we had applied for, while the second, led by the CEO, provided an introduction to Tech buzz hub. Having the CEO personally lead the session made it feel especially meaningful and inspiring.
What I appreciated most was the interactive nature of these sessions. We were encouraged not just to listen, but to ask questions, offer our perspectives, and engage in discussions. This approach made the presentations lively, inclusive, and far from the typical one-way lecture experience.
At one point, we participated in an icebreaker activity, divided into Team Red and Team Blue, where we stood up and sat down in response to prompts. The activity was simple yet energizing, sparking laughter and a sense of belonging. By mid-day, I felt more connected to the team and the environment than I had imagined possible on a first day. The staff’s attentiveness and welcoming attitude made it easy to contribute ideas and participate freely. There was a genuine sense that every voice mattered, which made me feel valued and at ease.
In the evening, we were given a tour of the Hub. Every corner and artwork seemed purposeful, reflecting the organization’s core values: speed and observation, integrity, creativity and innovation, and leadership. Seeing these values expressed visually made them feel real, as though the environment itself was guiding and inspiring us. Following the tour, we were assigned tasks for the training program, including the creation of this very article.
As the day came to an end, I reflected on the experience. The day had been full engaging, lively, and interactive. It had a perfect balance of structured learning, personal engagement, and light-hearted activities. More than anything, it was warm and welcoming, leaving me with a strong sense of belonging and excitement for the days ahead. My first day at Techbuzz hub wasn’t just an introduction to a workplace or a training program; it was an invitation to become part of a community that values curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.
Looking back, I can confidently say that my first day set the tone for everything that follows a journey of learning, working, growth, and meaningful connections all within an environment that genuinely feels like home.
