My name is Nandawula Proscovia, an accounting and finance trainee at TechBuzz hub. My first day experience began with a mixture of excitement and curiosity. Since I had visited the company premises prior to the starting day, I didn’t find it difficult to locate the place. As I approached the premises, the welcoming environment and well organised setting immediately created a positive first impression. The reception area was neat and vibrant, reflecting an atmosphere of professionalism blended with creativity.

Upon arrival, I was welcomed by the company accountant Miss Ndagire Roy who offered me a place to sit as I waited for my other colleagues since I arrived a bit early for the day. Here, I met with Grace who had also joined the program for project management and fundraising training and we had a few conversations here and there. I also met a one Alinda who had also joined the program for digital marketing training. This enabled us to share expectations and it created a comfortable environment for open communication and teamwork.

I was offered breakfast and later invited into the board room for introduction session with the permanent staff and trainees sharing their educational backgrounds, expertise, areas of interest and expectations from the GPAP program. This interaction created a friendly and collaborative environment, making it easier to connect and ask questions. It also gave me a sense of diversity of the skills within the team.

Mr. Keneth the CEO of TechBuzz Hub also joyfully shared his simple educational background and areas of expertise and then highlighted the organization’s main activities which included, providing co-working space for entrepreneurs, capacity building and training, mentorship and coaching and startup incubation.

I later got a full tour of the work place which felt like being shown around a new school, except here, the classrooms are buzzing with real business activities. Mr. Keneth showed the different co-working spaces explaining the meaning and giving more insights of the paintings on the walls.

In conclusion, my first day at TechBuzz Hub was both exciting and enlightening. From the warm welcome of the team to the insightful workplace tour, every interaction left me feeling valued and motivated and feeling confident that TechBuzz Hub is a place where I can grow, learn and make a positive impact.
