June 2nd  was finally here and as I walked into the premises of TechBuzz Hub, I was filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness because I didn’t know what to expect.  The office layout, warmth of the environment, the art on the walls and the comfort alone immediately caught my attention and calmed my nerves. I was greeted warmly by Mr. Kenneth, who showed me to the waiting area.

Then came Ms. Roy who welcomed me and introduced herself, walked me to the board room, had paper work for me to sign off before beginning my internship, served me with breakfast, explaining the company’s policies and culture. I was impressed by the organization’s emphasis on teamwork, innovation and employee growth. My colleague introduced herself, the TechBuzz Hub team introduced themselves as well and we shared brief stories about our backgrounds, passions, expectations and interests.

We were made aware that the first day and week is all about orientation and so throughout the day, the team at TechBuzz Hub gave us a brief background of the company, why it was started, engaged us in an open discussion on the company’s catch phrase, learned about the company’s products, programs and services, they were kind enough to provide us with lunch, we had a tour around the office and familiarized myself with the workflow and the place. I am excited to contribute my skills and experience to the team.

In my experience, first day is always the hardest but I was met with a team that made the day and that experience easy, as the day drew to a close, I reflected on the experience, feeling grateful for the opportunity to join Techbuzz Hub, left feeling welcomed into a space where I can get to fully be myself. I look forward to learning, growing, and making meaningful contributions and I am hopeful that I won’t leave the same at the end of this Internship.
